TuxHumane Society of Charlotte
Hi! My name is Tux. I am a sweet, quiet boy looking for my forever home. I have tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). This means that I’ve come in contact with this cat specific virus through either my mother (from birth) or another cat through saliva (grooming or bite wounds). FeLV can cause a cat to be more susceptible to diseases that a healthy cat may be able to fight off. Because it isn’t known when I came in contact with the virus it is possible that I may be able to rid the virus from my system. For this reason, I should be retested at a later date, around 6 months. My last test was 10/31/17. I should be kept as an indoor cat for the remainder of my life to protect me from exposure to many diseases and should receive regular check-ups just like any other cat. If you are interested in meeting with me, please come on down to HSC today!
