The Humane Society of Charlotte’s 3rd annual Women for Animal Welfare Luncheon was held at Myers Park Country Club on Friday, May 20th.   This fundraising event is held annually to celebrate the work of the Humane Society of Charlotte and honor the women who support it.

This ladies-only luncheon has a dual purpose:

    • to honor women who are making an impact in animal welfare
    • to raise money and awareness for the Humane Society of Charlotte and its mission to improve the lives of companion animals through adoption, spay/neuter, education and outreach.

Our 2016 honorees, recognized for their partnership with the Humane Society of Charlotte to promote animal welfare and improve the lives of companion animals were: Robin Smith Salzman of Lake Norman and Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Molly Green of Charlotte Latin School.  Maureen O’Boyle of WBTV was the event host and, along with Shelly Moore, HSC CEO, presented the awards to the recipients.

More than 200 women attended the event, supporting and celebrating the work of the Humane Society of Charlotte.  The event raised more than $60,000 to support the mission of the organization.

The event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Charlotte Skin and Laser was the Presenting Sponsor of the event.  Our Luncheon Sponsors were Niki’s International Ltd. and Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep RamOur print sponsor was Boingo Graphics.

We are very grateful to our table hostesses that include: Angie Allred, Monique Bew, Amy Blumenthal, J’Nell Bryson, Cindy Caldwell, Jeanne Deiger, Dogtopia, Stacy Ferraro, Foster Royal, P.A., Betsy Grider, Therese Humphrey, Linda Kirby, Erin Lentz, Christine Mackie, Merrill Lynch, Beth Monaghan, Money Counts, Inc., Valerie Preston, Dr. Elizabeth Rostan, Robin Smith Salzman, Martha Schweppe and Cathy Watson.
