Building a safe, happy community for pets and people

The Humane Society of Charlotte believes education and understanding about the bond between humans and animals is important to building happy, healthy, pet-friendly communities.

The Humane Society of Charlotte Community Outreach team is always here to help, but unfortunately, we are not able to act as a 24-hour pet helpline. If you are experiencing an animal-related emergency, please dial 911. Examples of these emergencies could include, but are not limited to:

  • Sick, dying animal without access to veterinary services (locational or financial)
  • Animal found severely injured
  • Suspicion of abuse or neglect
  • Animals left in hot or cold cars

Our Outreach Team operates on a Tuesday-Saturday schedule and is often out of office assisting citizens in need. Please call and leave your name, phone number, and a detailed message and we will return your call. Due to the high call volume, your call will be returned within 48 hours.
