Pet Loss Support, Euthanasia & End-of-Life Resources

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. Whether you’re facing an end-of-life decision or grieving the recent loss of a cherished companion, the Humane Society of Charlotte is here to support you with compassionate resources and guidance.

End-of-Life and Euthanasia Resources

Making decisions about a pet’s quality of life can feel overwhelming and emotional. We understand that every situation is deeply personal, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

To help support pet owners during this difficult time, we’ve compiled local resources for:

  • In-home euthanasia
  • In-clinic euthanasia services
  • Private and communal cremation options
  • Aftercare services and grief support resources

Behavioral Euthanasia Support

In some cases, pets may experience severe behavioral challenges that impact their quality of life or create ongoing safety concerns. We know these situations can be heartbreaking and isolating for families.

If you are struggling with serious behavioral concerns, our team may be able to help.

While behavioral euthanasia is never a decision made lightly, our team can help guide compassionate conversations and provide resources when all other options have been exhausted and it is being considered as a final resort.

Please complete the form below and indicate in the notes that you would like to discuss behavior and a member of our team will be in touch. Please note that the form below is for dogs only.

Pet Loss Support Group

Grieving the loss of a pet is natural and deeply personal. If you’re struggling after the loss of a furry friend, Lap of Love offers monthly support groups here.

You’re Not Alone

No matter where you are in your journey — preparing, grieving, or healing — your emotions are valid, and support is available. If you need help navigating these decisions or would like someone to talk to, we encourage you to connect with the grief resources linked above.

We are here with you and for you.
