Play, Create, and Make a Difference Together at The Humane Society of Charlotte!
At Family Humane Hangout, begin with an introduction to the work happening at HSC, then step into it as you explore hands-on stations where you can play, create, and take part in experiences that make a difference here and in the community. Along the way, you may even catch a glimpse of some of our adoptable animals. It’s a chance to have fun, learn something new, and leave feeling connected to the impact your family can make together.

Refund Policy: Full refund or date transfer available if canceled at least 3 days (72 hours) before event.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Family Humane Hangout is designed for families of all kinds. Children are welcome to attend with a parent, grandparent, or other caregiver, and multiple family members are encouraged to join in the experience together. To ensure a safe and supportive environment, at least one adult must be present with their child(ren) at all times.
Everyone who plans to participate, adults and children, should be registered. All children must have at least one adult present throughout the entire program. The cost is $15 per participant.
Family Humane Hangout will consist of 3 parts:
1. A brief overview of HSC
2. Stations to play, learn, and create together
3. Visit our adoptable animals and if a volunteer is available, meet with an animal ambassador (a volunteer’s pet who has passed a behavior assessment and approved for interaction with groups of children and adults)
Refunds are available up to 3 days before the program date for any cancellations. Within 3 days of the program, we cannot offer refunds or change your registration to another date. It will be considered a donation to HSC.
Your registration fee covers program supplies and staffing while also supporting the animals in our care.
