Scout Program
Pet Pal Patch
The Humane Society of Charlotte is pleased to offer the Pet Pal Patch Program! Through this program, scout troops are welcome to visit our Animal Resource Center to learn about the mission and work of HSC. Each program consists of a facility tour, interactive lesson of your choosing (see below), and HSC badge for each participating scout.

PET PAL PATCH PROGRAM
Best For: Scouts in grades K–12
Duration: 90 minutes
Available: Monday–Friday, 11 am–4 pm
and Sundays, 1 pm–4 pm
Group Size: Best with 25 scouts or fewer
Cost: $12 per Scout
2 adults included, additional adults are $6 each
Animal Interaction: Not guaranteed;
based on group size and volunteer availability

Refund Policy: Full refund available if canceled at least 3 weeks before your scheduled visit. No refunds within 3 weeks.
Lesson Options:
Students explore how veterinary teams work together, review real HSC case studies, and practice mock medical decision-making. No hands-on interaction with live animals.
Students “adopt” a pretend pet and use a budget to choose supplies. Encourages reasoning, math skills, and problem-solving.
Students learn dog and cat body language and how to safely interact with pets in their community.
Students explore how inherited traits shape behavior and appearance and how this helps us support shelter dogs.
If your troop completes a donation drive or makes enrichment items, you may bring them with you.
