The Humane Society of Charlotte’s School Year Camps make summer fun last all year long! Through games, crafts, new friendships, and opportunities to learn, campers will enjoy an engaging day while discovering how HSC helps animals and the people who love them.

Available: Teacher Workdays and select holidays
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
-Extended Day available until 5:00 p.m. (+$20)

CAMPERS
3rd-8th Grade
Join us for a fun-filled day of exploring, creating,
and connecting with fellow animal lovers!
COUNSELORS IN TRAINING
9th-10th Grade
CITs are eligible to earn student service hours.
Students who are 16+ can volunteer at HSC.
Refund Policy: Full refund or date transfer available if canceled at least 3 days (72 hours) before your scheduled camp.
Frequently Asked Questions
Animal interactions are one of the most exciting parts of camp! Most hands-on experiences are with our animal ambassadors, volunteer-owned dogs who have completed a behavior assessment with our certified dog trainer and are known to be comfortable around groups of children. Because these experiences rely on volunteers, hands-on opportunities may vary. Campers will also see shelter animals, but direct contact is limited to keep both animals and campers safe and comfortable, as many animals are not accustomed to large groups of children. Some hands-off interactions may include walking through our adoption floor or playing with kittens using a wand toy, providing animals with enrichment and socialization while still keeping everyone safe.
Yes, extended care is available until 5:00 p.m., one hour after camp ends. Extended care is $20 and can be added during registration.
No, we kindly ask that your camper/CIT bring a refillable water bottle, snack, and lunch from home.
Yes! Unlike summer camp sessions, campers and CITs may register for multiple school year camp days.
No, School Camp sessions will not count towards these Summer Camp traditions.
Cancellations or date transfers must be made 3 days prior to the camp start date to receive a refund.
