A Community Campaign Supporting the Humane Society of Charlotte
Whether you’re a small business owner, a local retailer, or a passionate advocate for animals, Paws for a Cause is your opportunity to make a life-saving impact—right from your storefront, checkout counter, or social feed. This flexible, feel-good campaign invites you to partner with the Humane Society of Charlotte and give back in ways that are simple, visible, and engaging for your customers.
Ways to Get Involved
Round-Up at Checkout
Encourage customers to round up their purchase total to the nearest dollar, with the difference donated to HSC. Works in-store or online and is an easy way to build momentum every day.
Percentage-of-Sales Donation
Pledge a portion of sales—like 5%—on a chosen “Paws for a Cause Day,” week, or even month. It’s a meaningful way to spotlight your support and give customers a reason to shop with heart.
Charity Product Lines
Co-create limited-edition items like tote bags, mugs, or pet gear. A portion of each sale goes directly to animals in need.
Host an Event
Welcome the HSC team to table at your location, and pair it with a special promotion or ticketed event. Donate a portion of proceeds or entry fees to the cause.
Social Media Challenge or Giveaway
Start a #PawsForACause challenge—pledge $1 per like/share/tag (up to a limit), and consider raffling a giveaway to boost engagement. Great exposure for your brand, even greater for our animals.
Add-On Donations at Checkout
Let customers add a flat gift ($5, $10, or $20) at checkout. Promote the real-life impact of their gift—for example:
“$20 helps spay or neuter one pet.”

Let’s make tails wag together.
As a Paws for a Cause participant, you will be added to our Paws for Cause webpage for the month (or duration of your fundraising), before moving to our “Previous Participant” list. You will also be given a spot in the P4C section in the monthly newsletter, and we will share any social post related to the event that your team posts and tags us @humanecharlotte on our social story for 24 hours.
