Animal Advocacy Club
Join us each month to learn about animal welfare, develop advocacy skills, and create positive change for animals in our community and beyond.
Designed for students in grades 6-12, Animal Advocacy Club combines hands-on service, discussions about animal welfare issues, and practical ways to advocate for animals in everyday life. Participants may create enrichment items for shelter pets, assemble foster kits, support donor appreciation efforts, and more. Along the way, participants will tour our adoption floor to view adoptable animals and have the opportunity to interact with an animal ambassador when available.
Attend one session or join us month after month. Each meeting offers new opportunities to learn, serve, and become a stronger advocate for animals.

Cost: $15 per participant (Financial assistance available)
Students may earn service hours upon completion of the session
Frequently Asked Questions
Every session includes a visit to our adoption floor to view adoptable animals. Depending on availability, participants may also have the opportunity to meet an animal ambassador, a volunteer-owned dog that has been evaluated by a certified dog trainer and is comfortable around groups of children. While animals are an important part of the experience, Animal Advocacy Club is primarily focused on animal welfare education, advocacy, and hands-on service.
Drop-Off
Drop-off takes place in the Adoptions Lobby. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied into the building by an adult, who will check them in with program staff. Participants ages 16 and older may drive themselves to and from the program.
Pick-Up
Pick-up takes place in the Adoptions Lobby. Participants under the age of 16 must be picked up by an authorized adult. For safety, anyone picking up a participant must be listed as an authorized pick-up person during registration and present a valid photo ID.
Participants do not need to bring any supplies for Animal Advocacy Club. Water bottles are welcome, and we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that is appropriate for hands-on activities. For safety, participants should wear closed-toe shoes.
Yes. Participants may earn student service hours through their involvement in Animal Advocacy Club.
Yes! Students are welcome to attend as many Animal Advocacy Club sessions as they would like. Registration is required for each session, and participants may register for sessions individually or multiple sessions at once.
Cancellations or date transfers must be made 3 days prior to the session start date to receive a refund.
