Little Paws Storytime
Little Paws Storytime invites young animal lovers and their guardians to enjoy a fun and educational experience at HSC. Each month, families gather for engaging stories, learn simple ways to safely and respectfully interact with animals, and explore what it means to be kind and considerate around pets. Afterward, participants can see adoptable cats and dogs in the Adoption Center as they apply what they learned throughout the program. It’s a welcoming opportunity to learn and discover more about the mission of HSC.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Little Paws Storytime is designed for children and their caregivers to enjoy together. Young animal lovers of all ages are welcome, and all children must be accompanied by a participating adult throughout the program.
Please register each child who will be attending and list the adults who will be attending when asked during the registration process.
Little Paws Storytime will consist of 3 parts:
1. A story or two read by a staff member or volunteer
2. A brief lesson on how to be safe and respectful around animals
3. Take a self-guided tour of our adoptions floor to see adoptable cats and dogs
We strive to have an animal ambassador at each session. Animal ambassadors are volunteer-owned dogs who are known to be comfortable around groups of people and have completed a behavior assessment with a certified trainer. Because these experiences rely on volunteer availability, an animal interaction cannot be guaranteed.
