Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle that provides an immediate tax benefit to you and allows you to grant funds to charities of your choice over time. DAFs are typically established at community foundations, financial institutions, and other providers. You can easily make grants from your DAF to support the Humane Society of Charlotte in a variety of ways:
- Recommend a grant from your DAF through your financial institution or foundation – scroll to the bottom of the page to see a list of foundations and find yours or “Give now from your Donor-Advised Fund” below
- Contact your fund manager directly to make your gift
- Depending on your provider, the grant may arrive at the Humane Society of Charlotte with only the fund’s name and address. Please be sure to request your name be included and also be sure to designate if the grant is for a specific purpose, such as our capital campaign, or for general operating support of the Humane Society of Charlotte
Donating Stock
You can easily transfer stocks directly into the Humane Society of Charlotte brokerage account by following the gifting instructions linked here. Please be sure to have your financial advisor include your name on the transfer and/or contact us to let us know to be on the lookout for your gift.

Donating from an IRA
Did you know you can use your IRA to make a meaningful contribution to the Humane Society of Charlotte? If you’re 70 ½ or older, you can donate up to $100,000 annually from your IRA directly to qualified charities, reducing your taxable income. This can be a great way to support the animals you love while potentially lowering your tax burden. Together, you can determine if an IRA donation aligns with your financial goals and allows you to make a lasting impact on the lives of animals in our care.
Donating Cryptocurrency
