Happy International Dog Day!

Posted on: August 26, 2021

Happy International Dog Day from the Humane Society of Charlotte! In celebration of the occasion and in collaboration with the ongoing Clear the Shelters™ campaign, we’re offering reduced adoption fees on select animals at the shelter now through September 19.

We recently met a major adoption milestone for 2021 – more than 2000 animals from our shelter have been re-homed to new loving families. We’ve seen consistent adoption numbers throughout the last year but continuing to match homeless animals with their new families remains a top priority.

For every animal that is adopted from HSC, two lives are saved: the animal going to live with its new family and the animal that takes its place in our kennels. We follow a no-kill philosophy that is based on saving all healthy, treatable and behaviorally sound animals that come to us.

A few select dogs have been at HSC for several weeks and are ready to find their family! Check out some of our most eligible adoptable dogs below. Their adoption fees have all been discounted by $50.

To ensure visitors have the best adoption experience possible and find their perfect match, adoptable animals are available to meet by appointment. Adopters can visit humanecharlotte.org/adoption to schedule an appointment through HSC’s smart scheduler. Happy International Dog Day from HSC!
