Services at the Humane Society of Charlotte
Our mission at the Humane Society of Charlotte is to improve life quality for people and pets. We believe that given the right resources and support, everyone can be a good pet owner. That’s why we show up for you and your furry friends at every stage of ownership.
Pet Training & Behavior Counseling
Our approach to training at the Humane Society of Charlotte is rooted in behavioral science, emphasizing positive reinforcement and fostering a strong bond between humans and animals. Our services include private training sessions and consultations via phone or email, aimed at addressing any behavioral issues you may be experiencing with your pet.
Pet Loss & Grief Counseling
Coping with the loss of a pet can be a difficult journey to navigate alone. One of our sponsors and dear friends, Paws, Whiskers & Wags of Charlotte, offers a free Pet Loss Support Group to help you face the loss of a beloved family member.
We are dedicated to the well-being of the animals in our community. That’s why we are proud to offer basic wellness services at our new Essential Care Wellness Clinic. From microchipping to vaccines to heartworm prevention, we’re here to help your pup or cat feel its best!
Food & Housing Support
Our amazing Community Outreach Team is always eager to help pets and people in our community. If you ever find yourself in need of support, our team is here to provide essential services. We offer a pet food bank and assistance finding pet-friendly apartments in Charlotte.
Spay & Neuter Services
Our wellness clinic is always available for high-quality, low-cost spay and neuter services. Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the best ways you can keep your animal, family, and community safe and healthy. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with us and take advantage of our top-quality services.
Community Cat Program
Stray and feral felines, also known as "community cats," have unique needs that require special attention. These felines are outdoor creatures and, based on their level of socialization, may not be suitable for adoption due to their fear of humans. We have designed a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, which provides the necessary care and support to stray and feral cats in Charlotte.
At the Humane Society of Charlotte, we are committed to creating impactful programs that benefit adults, children, and animals through education on animal welfare, care, and safety. By spreading awareness about our community programs and mission, we hope to foster greater compassion and respect toward animals, people, and the planet. We offer programs for children as well as programs for adults.
