Pet Pals Patch for Scouts

The Humane Society of Charlotte is pleased to offer the Pet Pals Patch for Scouts. There are a minimum number of lessons in kindness to animals the scouts must complete in order to earn their patch. The scouts will learn things like how to be safe around animals, how to properly care for a pet, the importance of having proper identification on pets, and many other ways to be a pet advocate.

Leaders, this patch can be completed during your regular troop meetings. Please complete all but your final two lessons. We will do those here at the shelter in conjunction with a shelter visit.

Education programs can be scheduled by using this form. Once completed, purchase patches for your troop for $3 each.

  • Due to the number of program requests we receive, please try to schedule programs at least one month in advance.
  • We rely on the kindness and generosity of our volunteers to fulfill your request. We may not be able to fulfill all the requests we receive.
  • Programs usually last 60 minutes, which include a tour, pet care discussion and visiting with the cats/kittens.
  • Our programs are designed to be presented to one class-sized group at a time (No more than 12 scouts).
  • ONLY the scouts working on their badges and their leaders can attend.
  • Please be aware and understanding of the need to restrict where and when animals make appearances. The well-being of our animals is very important.
  • Thank you again for all your efforts on behalf of the animals at the Humane Society of Charlotte.
