More About Our Behavior Team
Meet Carolyn Rositano, HSC Behavior Programs Coordinator: Carolyn’s love for shelter animals started as a young girl when her Girl Scout troop would collect donations to take to the animals at her local Humane Society. Her passion for animals grew from there and ultimately led to the pursuit of a degree in Zoology. After graduating, she started her first job in her local shelter in Upstate NY when she was 21. During her time there, she adopted the love of her life, her Pit Bull mix named Vinny. She then decided to further her education and pursue a possible career in Veterinary Technology.
While in school, she got a job at a doggy daycare in Buffalo, NY, and her love for all things dog behavior and dog enrichment began. She completed her degree and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician, but soon realized that her interest lied more with behavior than with medical. After moving and spending a few years living in Charlotte, Carolyn began to pursue her career in animal behavior therapy and became a Certified Dog Trainer through Animal Behavior College. While completing her volunteer hours at HSC, a part-time job working with the behavior department opened up. She has spent the last 7 months learning from her mentor here at HSC and is incredibly excited to take over the Behavior and Training Coordinator role!
